I. McKay DeVault
I. McKay DeVault received her associate of science degree in business administration from Walters State Community College in 2017, summa cum laude, and her bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee in 2019, summa cum laude. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2022 with a concentration in Advocacy and Dispute Resolution. During law school, McKay served as a research editor for the Tennessee Law Review as well as a staff editor for Transactions: The Tennessee Journal of Business Law. She received the Third Year Editor’s Award for the Tennessee Law Review, was recognized for her service with the UT Pro Bono Program, and received CALI Awards for the top grade in seven of her classes. She was a member of the Dean’s List for all eligible semesters and was named a member of the Order of the Coif following graduation. Before joining Hodges, Doughty & Carson as an associate in 2023, McKay served a one-year appointment with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable United States District Judge Thomas A. Varlan.
An East Tennessee native, McKay enjoys spending time with her boyfriend Hunter and their two dogs, boating on Douglas Lake, and golfing.
